The primary objective of the trust is to support the financially challenged meritorious students to continue their higher education. While doing so, trust has a bigger challenge to identify the genuine students and support them. So, the trust has designed a systematic approach in fulfilling the same. Trust would follow the below steps in identifying the students suitable for the trust scholarship and there on.

Call for application for scholarship in local Newspaper during early May month every year.

Applicants will submit the online application by visiting the trust website latest by mid of June month.

Processing the application and shortlisting the applicants based on merit and financial status by the selection committee.

Selection committee to audit the shortlisted candidates by visiting their residences.

Selection committee to finalize the scholars for the year and communicate the scholars with the scholarship distribution with date (generally last Sunday of July) and venue (generally held in Hubballi).

Award the scholarship to the selected candidates through the cross cheques. It is MANDATORY for the scholar to receive the cheque in person on the day of the scholarship distribution event. The decision of the Board of Management of Mahaguru Educational Trust in the selection process is final.

Track the scholars about the proper use of the scholarship and continual mentoring.

Trust is keen on measuring the effectiveness of the effort it has put in. It is also vital that scholarship money is used for the right purpose and no room is left for the misuse. So, trust will adapt the following but not limited to, the following actions:

Scholars shall submit their college fee receipts.

Scholars shall submit expense statement of the scholarship along with the supporting receipts / documents.

Periodic review with the scholars about their progress by the trust personnel.

Scholars shall report their progress in the half yearly trust meetings.

Character verification by the trust personnel.

Trust envisiones the risk that past performance of the scholars need not continue in the future. In order to keep the scholars alert about their performance, trust has defined certain conditions, based on which the scholarship would be continued for the next year. Following, but not limited to, are the conditions:

Scholar will maintain 60% of average marks in final examination in the college / university.

Scholar will clear all the subjects in one go without carrying any backlogs.

Scholar maintains a good character all along his studies.

Financial condition of the scholar continues as it was.
